AUCTION 2012

Don’t underestimate the amount of work involved. It takes a lot to make this event happen. On the positive side, there are great financial benefits to the school and our kids as a result.   To the volunteers personally: friendships are formed and bonding occurs amongst those who choose to get involved. Help is also needed after the auction, sending thank-you notes to all our donors. 

 

It is expected that every family secure at least one donation (Do you know someone who works in management for (owns) a company that might make a contribution?).   And/Or families can make a gift (or gift basket) themselves. Get the kids involved, they really get excited about putting together a basket and feeling like they are helping out. And, they have great insight into what other kids will ask their parents to bid on. The Justin Beiber-themed basket last year was a huge success!   Since this is our single biggest fundraiser, we are looking for 100% participation from every family.

 

Hot items are often service donations such as skilled house painting, carpet cleaning, handy-man hours, house cleaning, teaching a musical instrument, tutoring, calligraphy work, etc.  Creative auction items stir the most interest amongst bidders.
